Once Upon a Time... we hear it endlessly. But are fairy tale weddings really that marvelous? In this homemade mini-film you will witness the fact that it might not always be so. We got the idea for this film from one of our previous films, (Once Upon a Mideval: http://youtu.be/CZUWNR79-4I ) in that all the characters are played by the same actress. A little hermit crab 'shell wearing' film I put together. I currently own ten hermit crabs, who live in a homemade 100 gallon cage, including a misting system and a saltwater aquarium. I decided to put this footage together and post it because there is so little information to be found on glass hermit crab shells. The only place I have found to buy them is the online store www.glassshell.com , where they are hand blown by a person in Vermont.

This is the fictional story of a girl who's cat has kittens, one of which is incredibly tiny, leading to town-wide fame.
This is our first ever film, from 2008. We used simple filming techniques to create the miniaturization of our cat Blackberry, trying to do a home-filming version sort of like 'Darby O' Gill and the Little People' or 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids!'... where we positioned the camera so that Blackberry was far away and the object that is supposed to be right next to her is closer to the camera. We had a lot of fun making this story, and trying different techniques to make our cat look itty-bitty. For example, we had to try not to let the floor or other objects give us away, and it was especially fun to make Blackberry look as if she was taking a bath in a water dish... we had to give her treats to get her to stay still and not conspicuously walk right through her supposed bathtub... it takes a lot of patience to get a cat to stay still in the right spot.
Anyways, hope you enjoy this silly little film, we had a lot of fun making it.

The film focuses on an argument between a baroness of medieval times and her niece, who are interrupted mid-argument by the baroness's son, who wants his chambers to be cleaned. My guppies enjoying their daily fare of 1/2 a 'Omega One Veggie Rounds' pellet. This works great for feeding the larvae as well as the adults, as the adults break the food up into tiny particles that the young fish can consume. This food results in more surviving larval fish than I have had with newly hatched brine shrimp or microworms. This stuff is great, and as can be seen in the video, the guppies are crazy for it.

Here is some footage of land hermit crab larvae (called Zoea at this stage), which my crabs have released into their marine aquarium. Right now I am feeding them live phytoplankton and am hatching some baby brine shrimp to move them up to. These are of the Coenobita clypeatus species.
